Traminac

Traminac je sorta grožđa za koju postoji nekoliko teorija njenog podrijetla. Neki kažu da potječe iz Italije i tirolskih Alpa, točnije sela Tramin u regiji Južni Tirol, dok drugi pak govore kako ova sorta dolazi iz Alzasa u Francuskoj. Najčešće se dijeli na dvije varijacije – crveni traminac te mirisavi traminac. Crveni je traminac naziv dobio po karakterističnoj boji svojih bobica, ali isti daje zlatnožuta i srednje jaka vina koja najčešće pripadaju kategoriji polusuhih te poluslatkih vina. Za razliku od njega, mirisavi traminac daje vino slamnatožute do zlatnožute boje kojega prožimaju intenzivne arome karakteristične upravo za traminac koja asocira na ružu i marcipan. Uglavnom pripada kategoriji poluslatkih ili slatkih vina. Oba predstavnika sorte rastu u brojnim kontinentalnim vinogorjima Europe, no unatoč tome, traminac ne zauzima veliku ukupnu površinu vinorodnih područja. U našim se krajevima uzgoj traminca preporučuje u Podunavlju, Slavoniji, Moslavini, Prigorju, Plešivici, Pokuplju te Zagorju i Međimurju, no u Hrvatskoj je posebno poznat onaj iločki. Zbog vrlo intenzivne i jake arome često neće odgovarati svima koji ga kušaju, a osim toga, obilježava ga i visoki udio alkohola te niska razina kiselina zbog čega njegova već karakteristična slatkoća posebno dolazi do izražaja. Zbog tih obilježja, traminac se izvrsno sljubljuje sa sirevima koji imaju određeni udio plemenite plijesni, a odlično će se slagati s riječnim ribama poput soma i šarana, fiš-paprikašom te rakovima. Vina nastala od ove sorte grožđa također se preporučuju uz jela orijentalne kuhinje, a piju se dobro rashlađena.

Traminer is a grape variety for which there are several theories of its origin. Some say it comes from Italy and the Tyrolean Alps, specifically the village of Tramin in the South Tyrol region, while others say the variety comes from Alsace in France. It is most often divided into two variations – red Traminer and fragrant Traminer. Red Traminer is named after the characteristic color of its berries, but it gives golden yellow and medium strong wines that most often belong to the category of semi-dry and semi-sweet wines. In contrast, the fragrant Traminer gives the wine a straw-yellow to golden-yellow color, which is permeated by intense aromas characteristic of Traminer, which is reminiscent of rose and marzipan. It mainly belongs to the category of semi-sweet or sweet wines. Both representatives of the variety grow in many continental vineyards of Europe, but despite this, Traminer does not occupy a large total area of ​​wine-growing areas. In our region, the cultivation of Traminer is recommended in the Danube region, Slavonia, Moslavina, Prigorje, Plešivica, Pokuplje and Zagorje and Međimurje, but in Croatia the Ilok one is especially well known. Due to its very intense and strong aroma, it will often not suit everyone who tastes it, and in addition, it is characterized by a high alcohol content and low acid levels, which is why its already characteristic sweetness is especially pronounced. Because of these characteristics, Traminer goes well with cheeses that have a certain proportion of noble mold, and will go well with river fish such as catfish and carp, fish stew and crabs. Wines made from this grape variety are also recommended with oriental cuisine, and are drunk well chilled.
